Hydrodock units form the basis of a very compact and flexible clamping system. They were originally conceptualized as for head change systems on large machining centers, but also find applications in diverse areas such as injection molding machines.
The Hydrodock clamping system is used as the clamping system for the machine tool interfacing with changing processing units. For example, these include milling heads and attachment spindles. Once the processing unit has been positioned on the machine, the clamping force is built up at the adapter ring by the segments being drawn in. The absolute self-locking feature of the system guarantees a high mechanical stability of the interface in connection with maximum safety. Therefore, no permanent pressure is required following the clamping process.
Design Features A hydromechanical force intensifying and self-locking clamping unit pulls in the draw-bolt and thus the collet. During this process, a very high energy density is achieved in a minimum amount of space by means of the integrated force intensifying gear. The collet engages in adapter ring and draws it in until the processing unit makes contact and the clamping force has been built up. The unclamping pressure displaces the clamping dog forward and thus safely releases both the self-locking and the clamping action due to the changing surface situation.

BERG Spanntechnik is a leading supplier of Capto grippers and clamping systems.
The push drive chain-type hydraulic die clamping system is designed for clamping dies of various widths on press slides. The push-pull chain actuator moves automatically in the T-slot of the press slide between the parking position and the respective die. Hydraulic pressure is at a maximum 400 bar. The push-pull chain actuator can be used alternative to the PSV/PLV clamping actuator for every BERG press clamping system.
The self-limiting clamping system for Coromant Capto tools developed by BERG Spanntechnik is used in conjunction with Coromant Capto clamping sets. In this solution the wedge drive is rigidly connected to the clamping set via a drawbar.
The self-limiting clamping system for HSK tools developed by BERG Spanntechnik is used in conjunction with the proven HSH clamping sets. In this solution the wedge drive itself is rigidly connected to the clamping set via a drawbar.
The self-limiting clamping system for quick-release taper tools developed by BERG Spanntechnik is used in conjunction with the proven SSK clamping sets. In this solution the wedge drive itself is rigidly connected to the clamping set via a drawbar.
Includes measuring case, display unit, measuring cartridge, test certificate, and clamping head specific pull studs
The BERG clamping force measuring system for the tool holders is designed for force measurement when the spindle is stationary! The measuring system consists of a handy sturdy display device in pocket calculator format and the measuring equipment required for the various application. The measured data can be transferred to any WIN 9x/NT PC via a serial standard inter face and represented in y/t. The measuring system includes a practical case for accommodating the display device, the measuring equipment, the charger and the connecting cable.
The electro-mechanical self-locking drawbar style clamping system is designed for quick clamping dies of different widths with clamping slot on press slides. The clamping systems are controlled de-centrally and individually in each clamping system. Each local clamp control system communicates with the pressing machine control system. The clamping actuator automatically moves into the T-slot of the press slide between the parking position and the respective die. The electro-mechanical clamping system clamps the die and switches off automatically on reaching the clamping force.
The BERG AS-Interface clamping and chucking systems are intended for clamping various tools/dies on press slides and black holders, and for sliding table clamping and gripper rail couplings on multiple die presses. They are used on new machines and for retrofitting automatic clamping systems in existing press lines.
